We encourage patrons to park in the Davidson Road parking lot as it is closer to our Box Office; however, all Davidson parking is available for use.
Performance
- The theatre doors generally open approximately one-half hour before a performance.
- Photography and recording of any type is not permitted during performances. Staff reserves the right to confiscate these items for the duration of the performance and destroy or erase any type of material infringing on copyright protection.
- Cellular and digital phones and pagers must be turned off during performances. Staff reserves the right to confiscate these items for the duration of the performance.
- Food and beverage are not permitted inside the Performing Arts Center; they may be consumed in the commons area only. Staff reserves the right to confiscate these items for the duration of the performance.
- Smoking is not permitted anywhere on Ohio public school property. Staff reserves the right to confiscate these items for the duration of the performance.
- Latecomers will be seated when there is an appropriate place in the production.
- While we appreciate the opportunity to present the arts to children, parents are asked to use discretion when bringing very young children. Occasionally, we do rate our performances to indicate the suitability for certain age groups. Please be mindful of these ratings. Please note, that we do offer specific programming for children also. Regardless of age, everyone is required to have a ticket.
Ticket Sales
- All tickets are sold on a first come, first serve basis. Tickets can be purchased in advance at www.localevelevents.com or at the door.
- Seat assignment priority will be given to those with disabilities when possible; needless to say, these requests need to be made early and through the box office directly at 614-921-7200.
- Ticket orders will be held for you at the box office prior to the performance if they are received within a week of the musical. We wouldn't want them to come late in the mail.

At least two weeks notice is required for an interpreter; one will be provided if one is available. Parking spaces for persons with disabilities are available in the main parking lot. The theatre is at ground level.
- Special group rates are available for parties of sixteen or more.
- Tours of the Performing Arts Center and talkbacks may be scheduled for scout grroups, school groups, etc.

All About Our Program...
The breadth and depth of Davidson’s theatre program coupled with its multiple entry points and community connections have allowed a long tradition of artistic and educational excellence to continue year after year. Besides an extensive array of curricular offerings, Davidson’s after-school program includes Drama Club, Tech Crew, and Thespian Troupe #1316.
October heralds a children’s play that is cast with 9th-12th graders the minute we return to school from summer break. November has previously featured a comedy, but currently features an entirely student produced evening of one acts .The end of January sees a production exclusively for 11th and 12th graders which is performed both for the public in the evening as well as for the student body during the school day. It is followed by a production solely for 9th and 10th graders at the end of February.
This arrangement allows us to offer more challenging work for our more experienced and/or mature actors, while providing the opportunity for newcomers to tackle major roles in a separate production.
April or May welcomes the spring musical which is open to all students in our high school. Although principals and dance corps are auditioned, the chorus is open to anyone who attends all scheduled rehearsals and strives to perform to the best of his/her ability.
Additionally, our clown troupe and children’s touring theatre--The Giggle Factory—and our Improv Troupe allow students who cannot make a four to six week commitment of daily rehearsals a chance to explore performance. The Giggle Factory performs wherever and whenever the community requests—birthday parties, mall openings, school fairs, etc. We have even performed at juvenile girls’ detention center and for cancer fundraisers. Our improv troupe allows students to practice improvisation and, if they choose, perform competitively. This year we will sponsor three improv competitions that are open to teams from any high school in Central Ohio.
Our students attend both Area and State Thespian Conferences; in fact, we often host Thespian activities. We also participate in outreach projects such as participating in the Thespians’ Trick-or-Treat So Kids Can Eat campaign at Halloween and providing workshops for scout troops and drama clubs of our district’s middle schools.
Our Advanced Production and Performance students get to try their hand at playwriting and get the opportunity to perform their work for their peers. In addition, we have on many occasions given students who have written original plays an opportunity to produce staged readings of their work to receive constructive feedback. Our Directing students have also often been given the chance to direct their own one-act plays. AND for the past few years, theatre students have also hosted an open-mic styled event of original poetry reading, comedy, and acoustic music.
All-in-all, Hilliard Davidson can boast a comprehensive (and quite busy) program that does its best to serve all the interests of its students.
